Trail conditions change with the weather. Wet roots close some trails even when the park is open.

If you have never
ridden off-road

Start on the pump track. It is free, it is flat ground with banked turns rather than anything steep, and ten minutes on it will teach you more about balance than an hour of being told. When that feels fine, ride the easy forest trail out to the Soviet camp ruins.

Do I need my own bike?

No. Bikes and helmets are available at the park. Call ahead if you want one held for a particular time.

What should I wear?

Closed shoes with a flat sole, and clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Long sleeves help in the forest.

Is a helmet included?

Helmets are available with rental bikes. Confirm on the phone if you are bringing your own bike but no helmet.

How fit do I need to be?

For the pump track and the easy trail, not very. The longer trails climb, and the guided gorge ride is a genuine day out.

What if it rains?

The park can be open while individual trails are closed. Call before travelling — they will tell you honestly.

Can I come alone?

Yes. The pump track and the easy trails are fine to ride on your own. The gorge route is guided only.
